NXITY modernize District Heating system in Jinan

NXITY has been engaged by Jinan District Heating Company to modernize district heating systems in Shandong province. The first project in Jinan, implemented during summer 2018, will serve as a demonstration project for future modernization projects in Shandong province. Jinan District Heating Company covers a total heating area of approximately 100 million m² in Shandong province, corresponding to a peak heating demand of approximately 4 GW. Jinan District Heating Company has great ambitions to modernize their district heating systems in Shandong province, and has put an organization of national and international specialists in place to focus on these matters. The demonstration project covers heat exchanger station, secondary distribution system, building installations and control systems.

NXITY is taking departure from the core competences of the company (Energy and ICT) and design a modernization concept which meets the expectations of Jinan District Heating Company, and that suits the local conditions of the district systems. NXITY is part of a project team put together by Jinan District Heating Company comprising Swedish and Chinese suppliers of engineering services, various district heating equipment and control systems. NXITY acts as PMC, taking lead of the project implementation, liaising with the project owner’s organization and coordinating with all suppliers throughout the project.

Furthermore, NXITY provides capacity building through training and workshops for operation and maintenance personnel, local management and customer service functions. Dialogues with local authorities and end-consumers will be an important component of the project to prioritize organizational improvement measures for Jinan District Heating Company in order to improve the heat supply services towards the end-consumers.
